Each advisor generally provides access to a full range of investment products that is determined based on his or her licensing. The account program you select may also have a bearing on the specific investments. Your advisor may also be able to offer you financial planning services and with investment advisory services if they are a member of the Cadaret Grant Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firm.

Fees are typically broken up as either brokerage service fees or investment advisory service fees and therefore will depend on the type of account you establish. In addition, there are various fees that mutual funds, annuity companies or the clearing firm (typically Pershing) will charge for various services such as annual IRA reporting fee’s, account maintenance, and monthly statements.

We are paid through either investment advisory fees that are charged quarterly or through commissions for transactions. Typically, accounts are not set up for both forms of payment. Specific fees and charges will vary from one client to the next.

Again, your specific fees and costs will vary depending on the account type and possibly frequency of trading activity in brokerage (non advisory) accounts. Advisory accounts have an annual fee that is stated up front in the account opening paperwork and deducted from each account quarterly.

Our custodian will also vary depending on your account structure/set-up. The majority of our client accounts are set up through Pershing, LLC which is a division of the Bank of New York. They are one of the largest custodians of financial assets in the world.

These can vary from one person to the next within our group. Our levels of experience vary from a few years of experience in the business to those with over 25- 30 years. Some of us also have professional designations such as the CFP, (Certified Financial Planner) or CASL (Chartered Advisor for Senior Living), or an advanced degree (Masters in Accountancy) along with their securities and insurance licenses.

Each of us tends to have an open door policy and are willing to meet with their clients as frequently as desired. After a period of working together it is not uncommon for clients to end up with annual reviews meetings either in person or virtually. We also accept phone and email questions on miscellaneous topics that will come up throughout the year.

That is a question for an individual advisor as each of us tends to work with a different mix of individuals, businesses, trusts and retirement plans. Account types vary from general brokerage accounts to various types of IRAs, 401ks and other workplace retirement accounts as well as estate accounts and trusts.

Depending on your risk tolerance, goals and time horizon your portfolio may include numerous asset classes including domestic and international stocks of small-, mid- and large-cap companies, short & long term bonds, real estate and alternative investments.

These also vary depending on your particular asset allocation but we will typically use combinations of commonly recognized benchmarks such as the S&P 500, NASDAQ, Russell 1000, MSCI EAFE & ……some various fixed income benchmarks.
